Composition:

  • Each tablet of Warfarin 5mg (Cresent) contains 5mg of the active ingredient Warfarin sodium.

Dosage:

  • The usual starting dose of Warfarin for most patients is 5mg per day. However, the dosage may vary depending on individual factors such as age, weight, and medical condition.
  • Dosage adjustments may be necessary based on regular monitoring of the patient's International Normalized Ratio (INR) levels, which measures the blood's ability to clot.

Indications:

  • Warfarin is indicated for the prevention and treatment of blood clots in conditions such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism, atrial fibrillation, and mechanical heart valve replacement.
  • It is also used to reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with atrial fibrillation.
