Composition:

  • Each 2ml ampoule of Quinine injection contains 600mg of Quinine sulfate.

Dosage:

  • The usual adult dosage for Quinine injection is 600mg (1 ampoule) administered intravenously over 4 hours. This may be repeated every 8 hours as needed.

Indications:

  • Quinine injection is indicated for the treatment of severe malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum, when oral therapy is not feasible or not effective. It is also used in the treatment of nocturnal leg cramps when other treatments have failed.
