Celeflox (celecoxib) 200mg caps
Composition:
Each capsule contains:
- **Celecoxib**: 200 mg
- **Excipients**: (may include but are not limited to) lactose monohydrate, sodium lauryl sulfate, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, and gelatin (for the capsule shell).
#### Dosage:
- **Adults**:
- **Osteoarthritis**: 200 mg once daily or 100 mg twice daily.
- **Rheumatoid Arthritis**: 100 mg to 200 mg twice daily.
- **Acute Pain**: 400 mg on the first day, followed by 200 mg on the second day, then 200 mg as needed.
- **Dysmenorrhea**: 400 mg on the first day, followed by 200 mg as needed on subsequent days.
- **Elderly**: Dosage adjustments may be necessary; start with the lower end of the dosing range.
- **Renal Impairment**: Use with caution; dosage adjustments may be required.
- **Hepatic Impairment**: Use with caution; consider lower doses in patients with mild to moderate hepatic impairment.
#### Indications:
Celecoxib is indicated for:
- Management of osteoarthritis.
- Management of rheumatoid arthritis.
- Treatment of acute pain.
- Management of primary dysmenorrhea.
- Relief of pain associated with conditions such as ankylosing spondylitis.
- As an adjunctive treatment for patients with familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) to reduce the number of polyps.
#### Note:
- Celecoxib is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that selectively inhibits cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2).
- It should be used with caution in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, or renal impairment.
